Dr. Amoy Hugh-Pennie has over 25 years of experience in education and behavioral health.

As a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral Level (BCBA-D) and NYSTC K-12 Special Educator, Dr. Hugh-Pennie has extensive expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based interventions and curricula for diverse audiences including individuals with neurodivergence, with developmental delays, and the gifted and talented. 

Dr. Hugh-Pennie holds a Ph.D., M.A., M. Ed., and M. Phil. in Special Education, Curriculum Design, and Applied Behavior Analysis from Teachers College at Columbia University.

Dr. Hugh-Pennie has co-authored several publications and a book chapter on topics such as Culturally Relevant Pedagogy in K-12 Schools, Applied Behavior Analysis as a Technology of Teaching, and Ethics in ABA. She is a seasoned presenter at Applied Behavior Analysis Conferences and was most recently speaking at FABA in Florida this Fall.

Dr. Hugh-Pennie believes in addressing the needs of the whole child which is inclusive of the local community, family, medical, and school systems. Her work in inclusive education, caregiver training, and her use of data to engage in problem-solving and positive action toward change are all indicative of her resolve toward changing the world one parent, student, teacher, and related service professional at a time.
